  • This live webinar is designed for counsellors and helping professionals who support clients navigating disability, mental health, chronic illness, neurodivergence, and other health-related impacts on employment, including when, how or if to disclose in the workplace.

Disclosure questions show up frequently in counselling work, particularly when clients are trying to balance health or disability-related needs with job demands. Counsellors are often asked for guidance on disclosure decisions without having clear frameworks grounded in employment realities. This training introduces an evidence-based disclosure decision-making process and helps counsellors recognize the psychological, emotional, and systemic factors that shape client readiness, risk, and choice.

    This training includes:
    • The stages of disclosure, from readiness to post-disclosure support
    • Psychological and emotional factors influencing disclosure decisions
    • Common barriers, including trauma, discrimination, and past system harm
    • Trauma-informed and strengths-based disclosure approaches
    • Supporting client autonomy around if, when, how, and to whom to disclose
    • Practical worksheets and client-ready tools
    • Ethical considerations and scope in disclosure discussions
    • Real-world examples to translate learning into practice
