01 Stress Reduction & Burnout Prevention
Full-day workshop
Stress can become so familiar at work that people stop noticing its effects until they’re exhausted, irritable, or struggling to switch off. This interactive workshop helps your team recognize stress earlier, understand what keeps it going, and practise tools they can use during the workday and after it ends.
Your team will explore:
Early signs of stress and burnout in themselves and at work
How ongoing pressure affects focus, energy, and communication
Rumination and what to do when work thoughts keep following them home
Practical ways to regulate stress and recover between demands
Boundaries, priorities, and conversations about workload
Communication strategies for raising concerns and asking for what they need
Participants leave with a personal set of tools and an opportunity to identify changes that could make work more sustainable for their team.
Optional workshop focus: The communication portion can be replaced with a facilitated breathwork session and body-based stress reduction tools, delivered with a guest facilitator. We can discuss which version best suits your team when planning the workshop.
02 Understanding Your Team’s Working Styles
Full-day workshop
People can approach the same task in very different ways. One person may want time to think before responding; another may prefer to talk through ideas. These differences can become sources of frustration when a team makes assumptions about what someone else’s approach means.
Before the workshop, participants complete a working styles questionnaire. We use the results as a starting point for conversation about preferences, strengths, and how each person works best. The questionnaire is a tool for reflection, rather than a label or a measure of someone’s ability.
Your team will explore:
Individual strengths and preferred ways of working
How team members approach decisions, planning, and change
Communication preferences and what can be misunderstood
Assumptions people make about different working styles
Ways to use each other’s strengths when sharing tasks
Practical approaches to feedback, collaboration, and difficult conversations
The day includes guided discussion and team activities so participants can apply what they learn to real situations in their workplace. Your team will finish by identifying a few shared ways of working together more effectively.
More Workshop Topics
03 Strengthening Workplace Culture
Explore the everyday behaviours that shape how it feels to work in your organization. Your team will look at communication, recognition, trust, and accountability, then identify practical changes that better reflect the culture you want to build.
04 Supporting Employee Mental Health
Help managers recognize when an employee may be struggling, start a supportive conversation, and connect them with available resources, including workplace benefits and counselling. The workshop also covers how to follow up while respecting privacy and professional boundaries.
05 Adapting to Change and Economic Uncertainty
When budgets, staffing, or priorities shift, uncertainty can affect both wellbeing and performance. This workshop helps teams communicate through change, manage competing demands, focus on what they can influence, and stay connected to shared goals.
06 Working Across Generations and Cultures
Different experiences and perspectives can be a strength when people know how to work through misunderstandings. This workshop helps teams question assumptions, communicate with curiosity, and build practices that make it easier for everyone to contribute. It avoids treating anyone’s generation or culture as a fixed personality type.
07 Effective Communication for Managers
Give managers practical tools for setting expectations, providing feedback, listening to concerns, and having difficult conversations. Participants practise responding to common workplace situations with clarity, respect, and a plan for what happens next.
Specialized expertise: I hold credentials in clinical counselling, vocational rehabilitation, and career development. I understand both employee wellbeing and the practical realities of work.
Leadership experience: As a former WorkBC General Manager, I’ve led teams and understand the pressures managers face when supporting staff while meeting organizational goals.
Local to Vancouver Island: I can bring training to your team in person, with virtual options available across BC.
Practical, tailored workshops: Your team will work with relevant examples and leave with tools they can use right away. The session can be shaped around your organization’s needs.
Strong value for your investment: A workshop gives the whole team shared tools and language in one session. Employees who want more personal support can pursue individual counselling rather than relying on repeated group training to address individual concerns.
A familiar path to further support: Staff meet me during the workshop, so they know who I am and how I work. If they would like individual counselling afterward, they’re welcome to contact me privately and check whether their benefits cover sessions.
Experienced, well-reviewed facilitator: I’ve presented to a range of groups and bring a warm, engaging style to practical topics.
Let’s talk about what your team needs.
